| Founder and director of the de Greve Cello Institute, Mrs. de Greve started teaching under the instruction of Einar Holm at the Ithaca Violoncello Institute in New York. She then went on to teach in Indianapolis and is currently teaching in Akron.
Mrs. de Greve emphasizes a strong technical foundation to facilitate music-making. She uses an integrated approach incorporating ideas from Suzuki, Kodaly, Dalcroze, and Havas. The music she chooses is unique, including standard repertoire, new music, and works of forgotten masters. No two students follow exactly the same path, as no two minds work in exactly the same way. Chief among Mrs. de Greve's philosophies for achievement is the belief that honoring families is the key to student success. She maintains close contact with all families.
All students over the age of five are welcome. Applicants will be offered a free trial lesson. Please contact the Institute for more information. |
