This is one of my two Jansma cellos. I bought this instrument in 2004 from the maker in Fremont, MI. This cello was built in 1999 and was used by soloist Ko Iwasaki as a substitute to his 1727 strad before I bought it. I'm not exaggerating when I say this thing rips. Definately an instrument for someone who wants to be heard. It's slightly smaller (28.5in) and would be perfect for a small player who is looking for something of this caliber. I am 6'2" and my other Jansma (29.5in) fits me a little better. I have 4 instruments and need to down size! Tim's quality of workmanship meets and surpasses all of the big names in American violin making. I scoured the country for instruments for three years before settling on this maker. Tim by principle doesn't antique ANY of his instruments and his neck sets are flawless. He is also considered an expert in tone woods internationally. Photos upon request and thanks for reading!
